This sample Ethiopia holiday tour starts in the Northern part of Ethiopia . The tour starts in Bahir Dar believed to be the source of the Nile. The tour then takes us to the ancient city of Gondor, often described as the Camelot of Africa, and onward onto Axum and its archeological treasures. Finally we arrive in Lalibela  famous for its famous rock churches. This tour can be flexed to cover other areas of interest in Ethiopia.

Tour Day 1 : Arrival in Addis Ababa. After checking into your hotel we go sightseeing, visiting the Ethnographic Museum and the Church of the Trinity where Haile Selassies' remains now lie.

Tour Day  2: Fly to Bahir Dar, visiting the Blue Nile Falls and the Lake Tana Monasteries.

Tour Day 3 : Drive to Gondar and visit Imperial castles, including the King Fasiledes Castle and the Debre Berhan Selassie Church.

Tour Day 4 : Fly to Lalibela, nicknamed the “Petra of Africa,” and visit 11 Rock hewn Churches chiseled out of a mountain slope. An Unesco World Heritage Site.

Tour Day 5 : On our second day in Lalibela, we will visit the church of Yimrhane Kristos. This exquisite church, a masterpiece of Axumite wood and stone construction is renowned for its interior decoration.

Tour Day 6 : Fly to Axum, once an ancient kingdom and the most powerful state between the Eastern Roman Empire and Persia. Amongst its archaeological and historical attractions are monolithic steles or obelisks and the legendary Bath of the Queen of Sheba.

Tour Day 7: Return to Addis, taking the opportunity visit the Merkato Outdoor Market, and then a farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant before transferring to the airport.

Holiday Day 7: Travel to Jinka and visit a Konso tribal village. A pagan society, the Konso erect eerie wooden totems over the graves of their dead and have numerous cults based around the breeding and veneration of serpents.

Holiday Day 8: Excursion to the Mago National Park and then on to a Mursi village. The Mursi, like other tribes in the Omo, speak their own language, and have their own custom of dress and jewelry, including a lip disc, which women wear by slicing their bottom lip.

Holiday Day 9: In Turmi, we witness the Hamer people, who keep their own unique customs.

Holiday Day 10: Excursion to Murrula as a day trip and learn body painting with the Karo people.

Holiday Day 11: Drive back to Arbaminch.

Holiday Day 12: Boat trip on Lake Chamo home to huge crocodiles, hippos and a variety of birdlife. After boat ride, we will start drive to Lake Langano and to the Abiyata Shalla National Park.

Holiday Day 13: Drive back to Addis Ababa and Departure.
